Jefferson County, MIneral Area and South East Missouri conference predictions

 I don't have a lot of team statistics for individual players in these conferences so I used the team point differential and defensive points allowed to estimate win-loss records and ratings.

In the Jefferson County conference, look for Festus to continue their winning ways of last year.    Desoto, Windsor and Hillsboro have had strong basketball traditions but there may be some rebuilding with those teams.

In the Mineral Area Large schools, it is North County hands down.  I can see North County winning all their games this year but that is always a tough proposition.  Ste. Gen and Farmington will be tough and I expect Park Hills Central to rebound from a down year last year.

In the Mineral Area Small school conference, look out for Valle Catholic.  While Valle has been a traditionally great football school, the hardcourt team will be tough to handle.  Arcadia Valley and Valley Caledonia will be tough opponents in their small school schedule but won't match up with Valle.

Will anybody touch New Madrid County Central this year?  Well, maybe, because they have a tough challenger in Cape Notre Dame.  The rest of the conference will be eating their dust.

 Who's showing up tonight?  That might be a coach's biggest worry from one game to another.  Will the team respond to the coaching this week?  Will the players give their best effort?  Will the team perform as expected? Those are some questions that are hard to answer for a group of boys between 15 and 18 years of age.  How well will they all perform in a game in which the opponent's coaching staff has been working to defend against your strengths and take opportunities with your team's weaknesses to win the game? Gramps Braggin Rights Missouri Boys Class One Final Ratings 3/13/2022

 Updated 3/24/2022 Man, O, Man.  How about those Panthers of Annapolis, Missouri! I have nev/er seen a half like the first half of the South Iron and Stanberry Class One state championship game last night.  In what seemed like a close game early in the second quarter, the Panthers, behind Drenin Dinkins, exploded with 21 points to build a 20-14 game into a 41-20 route by half.  Dinkins, was on fire, hitting shots from 25 feet and driving into the lane for acrobatic floaters or dipsy-do layups.  It was literally the hot knife slicing through butter analogy.  Dinkins finished the first half with 29 of those 41 points, the second-most by a player in MSHSAA basketball history for one half.  Gramps Braggin' Rights Missouri Boy's Class Four Basketball Ratings by District - 2/10/2021 As I stated earlier, I am not fully caught up on all teams in all classes but with district seeding meetings (some have already occurred) and tournaments right around the corner, I am posting what I have.  Here are the Class Four boys ratings by district and my comments about each district: District 1: Take New Madrid County Central over Cape Notre Dame and run. District 2:  Jobe Bryant and the Park Hill Central Rebels dominate. District 3:  St. James edges Owensville District 4: Confluence Academy spoils another Cinderella run by Lift for Life. District 5: How do you spell Domination...?  V-A-S-H-O-N District 6: MICDS and Whitfield could play three OTs to decide this.  I can't, you can flip your own coin.  Brandon Mitchell-Day might be the difference-maker here.
